HOME2ROME

A couple of weeks ago mr John Wells sent me an email asking me if I still remembered him. He said he spent here 1 night 2 years ago…

Difficult to remember…But he gave me a hint! “I was dressed as a pirate in the morning...” How could I forget it?

John and his friends were very funny! They slept at La Genzianella during their previous experience of rallying by driving to Prague in 2007 in his Audi painted like a Fresian Cow.

John Wells & Richard Clements will be driving from St. Austell, Cornwall to Rome via Calais, Montelimar, Menton, Bormio (July 29th), Sottomarina and finally Rome. They are going to be driving the above route in a Volvo 850se purchased for the princely sum of £150. The car will be transformed into a Pirate ship and John and Richard will be dressed as Pirates (again!) You can follow their adventure on www.cornishcowboys.co.uk

The trip has been organised by a company called Street Safari and there will be around 30 teams with the sole aim of making Rome at the end. Each day has a set challenge. This might be questions on something you pass on the way or the challenges might be something else who knows but there are prizes at the end of the trip.

Home2Rome
takes in most of the Grand Tour.
The Grand Tour was started in the 17th Century and involved young English Gentlemen travelling to Paris, Milan, Venice, Florence and Rome over 3-4 years, taking in and celebrating the culture as they went. Well, the staff of Home2Rome reckon the same thing can be done in 4 days. “If you leave out all that serious, educational stuff they threw in there.
Hey! Celebrating the culture! We're all about that... heehee.”

John W. and his friends also have a more important purpose that we would like to share with them. They support and collect money for The Children's Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal
